All sins in the Bible: Biblical sin list

Divination / Tarot Cards / Sorcery:

Any involvement in drawing Tarot or all other similar cards is the sin of Divination/sorcery. God has given us limited knowledge for a reason, and we shouldn't go outside Gods will for us seeking knowledge by other means. This is partly so we focus on the present moment with our minds set on Gods message, living holy and salvation. God does not operate or speak to us from cards, he speaks to us by the words of the Bible and the sacraments of the Catholic church. However the devil or other demons can influence which cards you pick, or you pick a random card with no true meaning for you and either can influence your thoughts,

decisions, and life to lead you away from God's actual will for you. If God doesn't answer your questions in prayer, usually by a nudge feeling the holy spirit, don't try demonic magic.

God gave us his message, the bible, and means of spiritual growth, the church. Using other sources outside of him shows one does not have faith in what he made for us, and that it's insufficient, which is highly disrespectful and another sin.

God even rarely speaks to us through visions and dreams, but when and if he does, the vision should be discussed with a priest (who has been bestowed by the holy spirit for these matters specifically,) for clarity of it's true meaning; because God speaks in parables which can be misunderstood. This happens frequently in the Bible where people think a prophecy means one thing, but it's not fulfilled until later in a slightly different way. So faith and perseverance is needed.

Besides that, God is an infinite timeless being and can't be grasped, so we need the purity of faith about supreme knowledge and understanding, as anytime we think we know God or his message we limit him.

The devil can imitate these favors. The devil can represent himself to the soul under an appearance of light… unless the soul be very humble and obedient, it will be deceived.

Although these things may come from God, it is very dangerous to believe this without advice.

When I was commanded to resist these favors, I obeyed, and the Lord approved my obedience. Even if one thinks it is God, one must not rely on one’s own judgment. I saw clearly that to rely on one’s own judgment was dangerous, and that there was no safety except in learned men. One must not believe anything of this kind without consulting a learned confessor.

I never trusted myself in anything, but always had recourse to learned men.

The soul should not desire revelations nor visions… the safest way is never to desire them. The Lord does not want us to know everything… He wants us to trust Him.The safest course is obedience, for in this way the devil has no power.
